Kids Club
What is the Kids Club?
The Windsor Wood Carving Museum’s Kids Club is designed for children ages 4 to 12. There is no fee to join but we encourage the donating to help keep this program going. Joining the Kids Club is a great way for your children to learn how to get along with others, be involved in hands on activities that develop their fine motor skills, learn how to problem solve, think creatively, express themselves and learn how to be eco-friendly. We have members that are from many different countries and cultures so your children will learn about and appreciate their culture and ways of life as it differs from our own.
Getting your children involved with the museum at an early age will help them to develop an interest in working with wood. As they get older they will learn to create beautiful works of art.
What Kinds of Activities Do We Have?
Getting your children involved with the museum at an early age will help them to develop an interest in working with wood. As they get older they will learn to create beautiful works of art.
The Windsor Wood Carving Museum’s Kids Club wants to get children involved with wood at an early age so we have many creative activities that immerse them in the world of wood. The activities are all season related. Activities that we have for your children to participate in are painting wooden decorations, building useful wooden crafts, soap carving, reflecting on what they have learned by making memory journals and much more.
Soap Carving
To prepare your children for carving wood, we teach them to carve soap so that they will be used to using tools that are similar to the tools that wood carvers use and they will also get the feel of carving shapes and designs into objects.
Activities with Wood
We have activities that are related to each season and time of year that also relate to wood. Some of the activities involve paper, twigs, small pieces of wood and other items found in nature to get your children interested in wood.
